The Vidyapith journal covers views, articles and original research on varied topics of local and national interests in humanities, languages and social science with Gandhian philosophy as its core thought. Since its inception in 1993 the department of Microbiology and Biogas research centre is taking shape in terms ofInfrastructure and research facilities. Being a young branch of science in Gujarat Vidyapith, microbiology offers great scope for talented and interested students to take up ventures both in industry and research. The department is thriving with teaching learning and conducting research in the areas of Biogas, Alternative energy, Biofuels, Waterand Water treatment along with basic microbiology. It gives one immense pleasure to publish this issue of the Vidyapith with emphasis on Biotechnologywith high quality input of research achievements and I assume of reaching new apexes of quality in future. I ambeing confident that this special issue of Vidyapith would be highly informativeto the readers at knowledgeas well as applied level. This issue provides us an opportunity to express and share theKnowledge of teachers and students in the field of life sciences.
