Communication for harmony in the society and city, Gandhi’s message for the Masses is discussed in this paper. How Gandhi’s speech given on 7 September 1928 on the occasion of laying the foundation stone of Behra Munga ni shala (School for Mute and Children with Hearing Dis/ability), Ahmedabad, includes all the stakeholders of the society is explained here. This is a great example of Gandhi’s way of inclusive communication. Inclusive communication is a need or compulsion of society. A divided
society or marginalized population in the society can be a reason for disharmony, disturbance, and restlessness in society, which may, later on, turn into riots, communal issues, and violent activities in the society. When a society is working for its dis/able people’s life and betterment, there is a complex of a bit superiority in the minds of stakeholders of the society. Gandhi how smartly yet meaningfully communicated to able and speech/hearing impaired people about the social responsibility of the ‘normal’ people.
