Exploring Historical Roots and Modern Challenges in Human Resource Management: Advocating a Humanistic Approach
Keywords:
Human Resource Management, HRMAbstract
Major industrial and economic changes have been accompanied by the evolution of human resource management, or HRM. This paper explores the origins of human resource management (HRM), following its progression from the Industrial Revolution to modern labor relations. The analysis focuses on how industrial progress, capitalism, and technical advancement have transformed labor relations and given rise to intricate issues like job insecurity, loneliness, and inequality. Additionally, a humanistic approach to HRM is suggested in the study, emphasizing employee welfare, participative management, and equitable wealth distribution. This strategy, which is based on Mahatma Gandhi’s trusteeship principle, aims to reinterpret labor relations in the context of a more just and sustainable future.
