Abstract

વિશ્વની જન સંખ્યામાં પO% જનસંખ્યા મહિલાઓની હોવા છતાં તેમને ઉપેક્ષિત, દયનીય,પછાત અને દ્વિતીય શ્રેણીના નાગરિક માનવામાં આવે છે. સમાજ તથા અર્થવ્યવસ્થાનાં આ અભિન્ન અંગ વિશે જાણે કે “વિકાસ” શબ્દ વાસ્તવિક અર્થથી દૂર હોય તેવું લાગે છે. આજે મહિલાઓના વિકાસ માટે રાષ્ટ્રીય અને આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય સ્તરે વિભિન્ન કાર્યક્રમો તથા સંમેલનોનું આયોજન થાય છે, પરંતુ આ બધાં પ્રયોજનોનાં પરિણામો જાણે કે મહિલાઓને માટે હોવાને બદલે, કોઇક બીજા વર્ગ કે જાતિ માટે હાથ ધરવામાં આવ્યાં હોય તેવું લાગે છે. આ યોજનાઓ કે પ્રાયોજનાઓ સુધી મહિલાઓની પહોંચ અને ભાગીદારી કેટલી છે? વિકાસની હરોળમાં ગ્રામીણ મહિલા કયાં ઊભી છે, તે બીજો મોટો સવાલ છે. ગ્રામીણ મહિલાઓ વિકાસની યોજનાઓ અને તેનાં તંત્રો સુધી પહોંચી નથી. પ્રસ્તુત અભ્યાસમાં ગ્રામીણ મહિલાઓ ગ્રામીણ વિકાસ માટે કાર્યરત સંસ્થાઓ સુધી કેટલા પ્રમાણમાં પહોંચી શકી છે તેને તપાસવાનો પ્રયાસ કરવામાં આવ્યો છે.
