Correlation Based Insights into Growth, Yield and Seed Quality Traits of Green Gram (Vigna radiata L.)

An experiment was conducted at a farm in Navi Vasni,
Aravalli, Gujarat, during the monsoon season (June–August) of
2022 to investigate the relationships among plant growth traits, seed
yield, and quality parameters in green gram. The study followed
a Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting of 10 treatments,
each duplicated thrice within plots measuring 3 × 3 square feet.
The treatments included nine different magnetic field exposure
combinations and one untreated control. Correlation coefficient
analysis revealed that seed yield exhibited correlations ranging
from moderate to strong, both positive and negative, with various
growth, yield, and quality parameters during the initial cropping
cycle. Among the seed quality traits, the rate of sprouting emerged
as a key determinant, showing significant positive associations
with leaf size, shoot span, root span, plant length, fresh and dry
biomass, and carotenoid content.
